Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered into a search box is sent directly to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its own response. We do not keep a local log of the terms entered in those partner searches.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the exchange. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server and analytics services may receive routine technical information about the visit:
- Page-view dates and times
- The pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The referring site, when one is reported
- The internet protocol address used for the request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved by a browser. They and related analytics tools help measure visits, popular pages, and where a browsing session ends. Browser controls can block or delete cookies, although doing so may change how some features behave.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Clark County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its content identifies the official sources that hold Clark County records, including the sheriff, Circuit Clerk, Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository, and Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not used to create a consumer report or a dossier about another person. This private site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search tools that appear on some pages. Their own privacy terms govern data entered into a tool, including retention and disclosure. Those practices are outside our control, so review the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to a sheriff page, court portal, state agency, legal resource, or outside search service. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's policy controls the visit. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across sites and select ads. That processing occurs on the provider's system.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may still be handled by the following limited recipients:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that receive a query submitted to their tool
- Advertising networks that place or measure ads
- A government or law enforcement body acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information under our control. No internet system can promise perfect security, so a breach or loss cannot be ruled out.
Users Under 18
This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. A verified request concerning a minor's submitted data will be addressed by deleting that information.
Your Data Rights
The Missouri Sunshine Law governs access to records held by Missouri public bodies, while RSMo §43.506 controls dissemination of specified state criminal-history information. Neither law turns this private site into a public record custodian. Subject to identity verification and applicable law, visitors may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal information retained about them
- Correct retained information that is inaccurate
- Delete personal information when no legal duty requires retention
- Honor an available opt-out from certain processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as site practices or legal requirements change. A revised version will appear here with a new effective date.
